I need help. My laptop, which is a bit older, turns on but the screen stays off and when I turn it off it goes off again after 1-2 seconds and then it goes back on again and again until it has no more power.
i5
Nvidia GeForce GT 520m
12GB RAM
500gb hdd
Connect an external monitor via HDMI or other connection.
I already tried shows that there's no signal
Maybe the BIOS battery is dead. Any desktop computer would still be bootable. With notebooks, some manufacturers have made it so that they no longer work. The batteries are also installed in such a way that everything has to be dismantled. This is extra so that you have to buy a new notebook.
My tip is to let your laptop rest for a week
Do you hear the fan?
Yes!
Which laptop With exchangeable graphics card?
Tried without a battery?
The graka can't be exchanged without a battery. I've already tried it.
Did you also press the corresponding function key?
mostly FN + Fxx (xx stands for 1-12, mostly marked with 2 monitors, one dark and one light)
So even if an external monitor doesn't work, the graphics card has almost certainly gone into eternal nirvana. Nothing can be done about it except cannibalize the box and dispose of the rest cleanly.
It does not work
