Expand RAM on old Samsung laptop, how much?

I have a Samsung NP-R519 with 3GB RAM, how far can I extend it? Unfortunately, I no longer have the manual and can't find any information on the Internet. I have Windows 10 and I have a 32 bit OS (64 based, whatever that means) [if that matters]

First, you should look on the internet for what your laptop supports in Maximum RAM. If the maximum is higher than 3GB you can simply swap or plug in the RAM. Most laptops have 2 RAM banks where there's usually only one busy. If a RAM bank is still free, you can easily plug in extra RAM. If you only have one RAM bank you would have to take out the current one and replace it with the new one. What is more important is that if you want to use more than 4GB of RAM you need a 64-bit Windows because 32-bit can't address more than 4GB.

The problem is, I can't find anything on the internet about my laptop. And I have two RAM banks with once 1GB and 2GB Ram plugged

He seems to have 2 ddr2 ram slots.
From what I find on the internet it looks as if the maximum 4gb ram supports. You would have to have a 2gb and a 1gb module currently, you just have to replace the 1gb module with a 2gb module.
Of course you can try 6gb or 8gb, but you do not know if it works. Could go.

Incidentally, I think a lot about your laptop on the internet, have probably not searched thoroughly.

Really? What / where did you search? Feeling completely stupid '-'

And that's exactly how it is with the RAM

holol. Google says "About 946,000 results" at the beginning, then I go to page 5 and then it says "Page 5 of about 44 results"

About lmao.

But not so many.

I also looked. After my research you can block a maximum of 4GB. Say you could replace the 1GB bar with a 2GB bar.

Currently you get DDR2 RAM pretty cheap. Here for example 2x2GB for 10 euro:

Okey, thank you.

Could I also switch to 64bit, and then add more?

br

You can according to the manufacturer max. Install 8GB.

But only makes sense if you play a 64bit OS.

Driver for your Samsung NP-R519 is available for Windows 7 64bit (this is synonymous for Win10 64 bit).

I do not know, it's always hard to say. The information you have on the least notebooks. That depends on the motherboard how much that supports. Just have to try it.

But more than 4gb worth it for the most things anyway not with such an old notebook. 4gb sticks are also much more expensive than 2gb sticks, so 5 times more expensive. 2gb sticks you get from 3 euro (more likely 5-6 euro) the piece. 4gb sticks cost at least 20 euro, mostly 30 euro.
