I'm finally switching from my laptop to PC after years and have already ordered the parts. Now I have a question, I know that a Windows key only works per system.
However, I also heard that if you register your system with the key with a Microsoft account, which you can "transfer" the activation somewhere else, you would just like to know how exactly.
So if you install Windows with the key somewhere else, activation is necessary. For example. Very easy by phone. I've done it a few times. There you give a hardware code which is then saved at Microsoft and then you get the activation code directly.
I have not yet done that with software in Windows, I have to admit.
If you have a Win 7/10 key and it is no longer needed for the laptop (because it is scrapped), you can use this key on the new computer.
If you have not yet set up a Microsoft account, you can disconnect the network connection when installing Windows before setting up the first user profile on the new computer, then a local user profile is created. Win 10 does the activation itself.
Thank you
Well thanks for the answer but I don't have a windows 7 key, it came directly with n windows 10 key
