Mouse clicks continuously?

As the title says. The mouse clicks continuously (left mouse button). When I wiped something on the mouse pad, it went short. Then again as before, automatic clicks. That's why I completely deactivated the laptop's mouse pad and only used it with an external mouse. Strangely, it went on for a few minutes. Then it started all over again. And right now I'm a little desperate because I need the laptop for work. Does anyone have any tips?
