Get your laptop quieter?

I'm a passionate gamer, and would like to make my laptop's fan quieter, as it is sometimes annoying. Since I'm connecting an e monitor, the question is whether I can effectively cover the laptop with quieter or with some noise suppressants. Please only cover tips for without having to make changes to the laptop myself, as I have already done a lot in this direction. Also with a blanket Covering is out of the question, otherwise the laptop would overheat. Does anyone have any tips?
