Laptop switches itself off → overheating?

I have a rather expensive laptop, an Acer Predator Triton 500. I have zero performance problems and I'm completely satisfied. I have had the device for about 9 months now and I already use it a lot for video games, internet, voice chat with friends etc.

I always try not to do too much at once and to use the laptop as gently as possible. Only on some days it runs around 10 hours straight when I have nothing to do (weekend or holiday, for example). I also always use a cooling pad that I put under the laptop.

A few weeks ago I noticed that he rarely just switches off. It actually always happens while I'm playing, and I don't even play games that are so technically complex. When I set the coolers to full power, it doesn't happen to me.

Is this possibly related to the thermal paste, do you have to replace it?

I don't know much about it, but maybe it could be due to your graphics card.

It is more likely that dust has already accumulated in the fan and that the cooling is therefore no longer as efficient as at the beginning.

You can clean it, but most likely the laptop will have to be disassembled.

This is overheating protection and indeed against overheating and overloading maybe also against overvoltage, with my password AV receiver 800 euro expensive 20 kg has cooling fins it only switches off when I turn my music up very loud then the device switches off from also has a protection against overvoltage overheating and overloading and your device is against overheating is also a good thing because with a laptop a friend of mine has had bad experiences overheated it put a carpet on the floor well and then it is the whole apartment burned but watch out for the device but if it switches off automatically it is good then it should be like this and let it cool down for half an hour and if you say in it for games it will overheat because the processor is working like crazy other things also the battery or maybe charger anyway but it is normal for it to get hot shutting down is also mandatory and so it should be that nothing happens sorry I forgot punctuation marks

I tried it not so long ago, unscrewed the laptop and looked at the fans, but I didn't see much dirt

The problem seems to be more common with the model, google "Acer Predator Triton 500 overheating" - after 9 months there should still be a guarantee, I would send it in. Then he gets new thermal paste and an intensive cleaning. Otherwise there's the possibility with software to reduce the CPU voltage (keyword: undervolting), but this is at the expense of performance.

Would the guarantee be void if I did the thermal paste myself? And I have to try that with the software, especially with less demanding games
