I have an Acer nitro 5 laptop, I made the mistake of leaving it plugged in all the time and now I've noticed my battery is dead. So my laptop now only works in mains operation because it crashes immediately when running on battery power. I don't want to replace the battery because I'm staying at home anyway. My question now is whether I can leave my laptop on mains operation all the time?
So whenever I use my laptop, I leave it connected to the mains because my battery is damaged.
Just give it a try, remove the battery and run your laptop on mains
Well, unfortunately that doesn't work because my battery is permanently integrated, so I want to know whether I can use my laptop with mains operation the whole time without problems.
In principle, it is possible to operate a laptop without a battery. The energy source is your socket in the case. If your laptop (with built-in battery) is connected to electricity, it already uses this energy source independently of the battery. The fact that the battery is charged is just a nice side effect. As soon as you of course disconnect this energy source, i.e. The power socket, the laptop will of course immediately switch off.
Ah thank you very much for your answer so I can easily use my laptop as if it were a desktop PC = D
Yep The battery is only there to be able to use the laptop on the move. If you use the laptop with a cable you basically have the same principle as with a desktop PC
