Hello, I have an important question and I have an Acer laptop that I have had since 2017 and that has not had any problems with it so far. As of today, the graphics card doesn't work, just like that on one day. It is only when I open the game, yt etc. Works fine. There was an error message from OneDrive and then another one later. When I did the antivirus scan I decided to reset my laptop, but Trdm had programs on it. I'm just afraid that I have a virus or that my graphics card is defective. Can someone please help me? Would be nice thanks
Basically, if something like this happens to me, I would reset the laptop and then see whether a virus has really destroyed the driver or something similar. It is best to save everything important on an external hard drive and quickly reset the pc. If it's greasy then just download all Windows updates and drivers and then look again if there are still problems
I did that and what surprised me that there are Trdm things on it, but with the one-drive characters it could be that?
So you completely reset the pc or just Windows? Because there's the option to keep two data or delete everything
I deleted everything
That is strange, I would have said reinstall Windows using a stick, but I do not know exactly whether this will work with the laptop
The error code says that either the graphics card was removed or the driver is not up-to-date, do you have the latest driver on it?
Have now done it again to remove everything, I'm sure with my own
Yes i have 100%
I'm not very familiar with one drive and whether the data may be temporarily stored on one drive during the reset, but if that still does not work even after the reset and the update of the driver, I would see whether the graphics card is probably through
So unscrew the laptop and look for burnt spots, and if you can't find anything I can't help you…
Could you say how afraid to screw around is a laptop and know my way around there. But it can't be that all of a sudden in one day it goes so crazy
Hmm ok thank you do you know if you can change the graphics cards apparently 2
Yes, because I'm sure that I have 100% removed all devices and that this one-drive sign is there
The thing is Discord yt and other apps are not possible with games
You probably have an external graphics card and one that sits in the processor and changing laptops is almost impossible because mostly the graphics card is built together with the mainboard and that means you have to change the entire system
Yes well discord and yt do not need extreme performance like games because the graphics card from the cpu can handle it
It is difficult to explain and if you have never done that before then I would rather leave it… Well, it is not impossible, for example my power supply just went flat when I started steam…
Ok, thanks, I'll have a look what I'm doing tomorrow, probably somehow go to experts and ask what they mean
Yes, that's probably the best solution, if the graphics card is broken, I think it's not worth repairing either, so it will probably need something new…
Oha haha ok I'm really scared of it
I will never get in my life my parents would never buy you for me ahhahahaha
Judging by your error messages, your graphics card is not broken. But there was an error installing the driver. And One Drive is a cloud storage that definitely has nothing to do with it.
Why does this 'error message' always come up with onedrive that I supposedly deleted something
Because something should be deleted from the cloud storage. Maybe you accidentally saved the graphics driver there and whenever the driver needs to be updated, one drive will come up and ask for it.
Remote diagnostics are unfortunately always a great puzzle.
It says it was deleted and this one-drive message always changes, I'm afraid it's a virus or something
Just quit one drive for a moment. At the bottom right near the time there should be a kind of small cloud, right click on it and then on close. If the cloud can't be seen there's a small arrow to unfold, you will definitely find it there.
What do I find there and have my laptop shut down, I'll do it tomorrow but other questions do you know why my things are still saved there despite reset? But there was this one-drive sign
Unfortunately not. That is the problem with remote diagnostics. But you have really registered with One drive and there's still data. One drive has nothing to do with your pc hard drive
That is very odd
You should simply download the graphics card driver again tomorrow and pay close attention to what you save it under.
and if that doesn't work, I can also help you to completely rebuild the pc. I have done this a number of times on my PC.
OK thanks
