How can I connect the sound when connecting a monitor to a laptop?

So I have a LCD monitor (K242HQL) of Acer I have connected with my laptop halt.aber the sound does not work somehow and about these buttons with + & - does not work and there's just such a strange menu. Or the graphics menu

Are you sure that the monitor has an integrated speaker?
