My laptop is about half a year old, I got Gta and my laptop gets hot and the fan is noisy while gaming. I use the Acer Nitro 5.
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3550H

Graphics card: RX Radeon

Laptop gets hot at Gta V
St

And your problem with that is now what exactly?

Ch

It is normal that the laptop gets warm because the cooling capacity is hard at the limit

Em

Yes, a laptop may Hot when he has something to do.
What is your question now?

Bi

Well… Turn down the resolution and / or the level of detail. Should be something RX 560x-like.

Br

Is it harmful to the laptop?

Br

Can it be harmful?

Em

Before that, the laptop will shut down.

It depends on what you mean by hot. 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 degrees Celsius?

It is not very healthy for the graphics card if it always runs at 90-100 degrees, but gaming laptops unfortunately often have such problems because you can do little to nothing anyway.

Even at 100 degrees, mine would still run. But if he notices that it is really too much, he throttles down so far that there's still picture for a few seconds.

St

It's a laptop, so you can't count on good cooling
is therefore normal
Well, of course, the wear increases when the temperatures are permanently high. However, it will not be harmful directly (apart from the increased wear and tear) because the PC throttles or even shuts down when the temperature is too high

Em

So have you already tested it? But how if it throttles after a certain heat to help the cooling function of the fan?

ch

Yes, this is quite normal with laptops.

So far I have only noticed that after playing gta 5 for a long time there are sometimes FPS drops and then there's still image for several seconds. I guess it's the warmth.

Em

But your statement was that your system would still run even at 100 degrees?! You don't say that if you haven't pushed the system that far yet. But in the end that would contradict you anyway with your further indication of "throttling".

In

I have already tested it at 90 degrees. I can't judge whether it switches off automatically at 100 degrees.
