How do I get the numpad to work?

I have the following problem:

The numpad does not work on my Acer Aspire 3 laptop. When I activate it with the button and want to use it, beep noises come and it shifts the lines.

But as soon as you switch to my friend's user, it works! My user never changed anything from the start, but yours and I don't.

I've already tried a few internet tips, but they didn't work. Maybe someone can help me here, I'm really desperate.

I type on "keyboard mouse curser" i always liked to use it to tinker certain "ascii" pictures in a certain program.

you pressed 0, what caught and moved with the keys 4 6 8 and 2 and then with, put it back there.
