Is an iPad better for me than a Windows laptop?

I bought a Gaminf notebook mainly for gaming. But after a week I don't want to gamble anymore because I'm bored.

What I need a device for now:

-Surf the desktop web (available on iPad OS)

- Write emails (iCloud). I mostly write on the iPhone, but a bigger app would be nice. Outlook is chargeable and I don't like Windows Mail at all.

-Watching films (like most laptops unfortunately screen bleeding) and is not so pleasant in bed.

-Simple documents (application) … I used Word for this, but I could write the same in Pages iOS (margins available, I don't need more). Probably works with Word iOS too

- Notes (icloud) I need the website on the laptop for this.

I had an iPad and I liked it, the only thing I was missing was gaming and now I don't need gaming anymore

So should I sell the laptop (700 euro, acer nitro 5 with i5 and rtx 2060) and buy an ipad 8 with keyboard (440 euro in total)?

Online lessons would definitely be even better with the iPad and you can scan.

But I will do an apprenticeship as an MTA laboratory, will I maybe need a laptop after all? (Powerpoint or Word Desktop)

Or would Powerpoint in the iPad then be sufficient?

What do you advise me?

Ta

I would buy an iPad even though I don't actually prefer Appel

Well, if you want to work efficiently and use all common programs, you will not be able to avoid a laptop at the latest during your training.

How about a convertible? Is a normal laptop, so to speak (with a keyboard, of course), on which the screen can be folded through 360 ° and thus used as a tablet. I think the best solution would be, I also have a part. The HP Envy x360 series is recommended.

Gu

Convertible is a good "compromise" between laptop and tablet / iPad

No

How about a Thinkpad T440p for 230 euro?

So

You practically answered your question yourself! The iPad would be absolutely the best solution for you, because as you have found yourself it comfortably solves all your problems.

You also have a presentation tool on the iPad with Keynote, which in my opinion is better than PowerPoint. It is definitely enough for training!

You should also consider the option of taking notes in class with the Apple Pencil as a plus, because it saves paper and weight. Top apps here are GoodNotes5 or Notability.

So I would definitely recommend the iPad, plus a pencil and a decent keyboard. Incidentally, I myself haven't used anything other than an iPad for 2 years. It worked great!

But I switched back to a MacBook because of Photoshop, which I still had to do on the computer at the same time. So speak from experience and can say that all your points are easily operated by the iPad.

So

Why shouldn't you get around a laptop?

All common office applications can also be run on the iPad. As an MTA in the laboratory, an iPad with a pencil would be the solution.

For an IT / engineering degree e.g. Where specialized software is needed, I understand that, but here?

Completely out of place, since the existing iPhone alone already provides a good basis for working hand in hand.

Ma

Maybe too expensive. Why can't you avoid a laptop in training?

Ma

I need icloud mail app and notes app and they are only available in ipads or macbooks

Ma

Only unfortunately the one with 128 GB costs 100 euro more. The one below has only 32GB and no 64Gb

Ma

And to be honest, an iphone can do everything an ipad can do

So

If you only stream movies, you hardly need any storage space! Your notes, transcripts, PDFs, etc. Seen over the entire training, take up 10-15 GB of space when it comes up.

Then you can still outsource a lot to the cloud. So even 32 GB is enough. But be careful: Then it's a work tool! Larger games than apps and Co. Are then just limited.

No

Then why are you asking the question?
