Which iPad for school (and possibly college)?

I'm currently a 11th grade student at a high school in Lower Saxony. Since some of my classmates had bought an iPad and I was faced with the decision of getting a laptop or iPad anyway, I asked myself which iPad I would like to get myself. If an iPad, then of course with Apple Pencil. Most of my classmates have an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil 2nd generation, which is actually a bit too expensive for me.

Hence my question: Do you think that you can work well with a current iPad Air and Apple Pencil of the first generation? Does anyone have experience there? The thing is, I would probably even spend the money on a Pro with a 2nd generation Pencil if I could still use it in my studies in about two and a half years. Therefore, my second question would be to what extent it can still work well with the iPad, even if the device has been around for a few years (in my case, that would be a good 2.5 years to study).

I apologize in advance for the absurd formulations, I'll write math tomorrow and that's why I only have my head there right now.

So I bought an Ipad Mini with a keyboard for my studies and I think it's NOT enough to work. A laptop has more advantages (but I don't need it every day). If you get an Ipad with a pen I would take one of the newer ones so that you have longer.

The iPad mini is clearly too small for studying, I would recommend the iPad Pro, as it can also be converted into a laptop. But since this is very expensive, it is an economic question. The Apple Pencil is actually just a gimmick and is actually not needed.

You could also use the new iPad

that costs about 300 euro but you can use the Apple Pencil 1 Gen

but I think you should buy a Pro or Air, the processor in the Air is better, but you have eg touch ID in the power button

I would tend to be more pro, but depending on how much money you want to spend, the air is perfectly adequate

No, I think it's perfect in terms of size, but unfortunately it doesn't support the programs of my college and thus it is unusable.
