I have the Acer Aspire V17 Nitro VN7-792G-52FY and have a 1TB HDD installed. I actually want to retrofit an SSD and have opted for the Samsung NVME SSD 970 EVO, but I do not know if it is compatible. I have no idea where to look, I know that the laptop has a PCI slot, but I do not want to spend so much money to see that the SSD is not compatible with the laptop. Can someone help me there?
Yes, the plate is compatible with your notebook, I own a VN7 791G 70M4, is actually the same laptop, difference is only in the performance. It's also more of a M.2 port than a pcie.
It is compatible.
Are there any different ssd sizes or do i have to worry about that?
That's right, there are different sizes. I'll tell you how big the record should be. Or you can even after measuring on the laptop, just from the beginning of m.2 to where you can screw in screw measure. There are only three sizes of m.2, so you do not need an exact value.
So you need the 60mm length. The record does not fit, I'm sorry, I hope you have not bought yet.
Have just looked at Amazon, somehow, only Transcend ssds in size. There are certainly other brands, of Samsung I have unfortunately found nothing on Amazon, ask times at Saturn, Media Markt or tevi Expert.
I'm sorry for the wrong information at the beginning.
In fact, there are five lengths; 110, 80, 60 and 42 and 30mm.
But by far the most common for SSDs is 80mm.

There are all M.2 SSD from 30 to 60mm in length.
That's both PCIe and SATA now. Can you choose the parameters there.
Have just looked, the 792g needs ne 80s ssd
