Yesterday I brought my 2-year-old laptop to be repaired, the specialist said the broken one was broken, the original can't be reordered and therefore there's only a replica that costs around 50 euro. Now the question arises whether a replica battery can damage my laptop in the long term? What are your opinions?
If it's a reasonable one then it isn't. But they don't last very long.
Usually not worth it.
P.S: I would ask the classic question:
1. What exactly is broken?
2. Which battery should go in there now?
Take it back unrepaired, I've never seen such an expensive replica…
Buy the replacement battery on ebay and install it yourself…
It's not that hard.
P. S. How did you manage to break a laptop battery after 2 years? Always fully discharged? If so,> this is a mistake…
I'll think about that. When you asked: yes, I always discharged the battery to 20% and then charged it. I use the laptop almost every day.
As I said. I wanted an original battery. But it doesn't exist anymore. Only the replica remains
The manufacturer of the replica is called Green Cell
Is a China battery. So it costs 20-25 euro. Not the best quality. Lasts 6 months to 1 year if you are lucky.
Yes but what exactly is supposed to be broken?
What else is there better? The guy from the shop said it was a high quality battery.
Then let him plug in the power next time, that will do him much better…
No, that is by no means high quality. This is one of the cheapest things you can get. OEM batteries are the best.
