Laptop dead, locked?

Have an acer Aspire3. We bought it new and it was used very little. I powered it up today. All OK. After a maximum of 2 minutes of usage a message "locked" came up, then it went off and since then it has been dead. I took the power off and turned it on again. Nothing. Long press the power button on the laptop. Nothing. Next to the battery indicator light is another indicator light. If I remember correctly (I'm not at home right now), a circle with rays around it, so "light". It once lit up for a short time, but went out again immediately. The device still did not respond. What could that be?

That could be the mainboard. Or maybe the Bios or the Aku, take it out once, and then put it back in. The battery should then be outside for about 5 seconds.

This is probably a defect. You did what you do with something like that. If the device is still in the warranty period, I would send it back immediately or you are entitled to have it repaired, the warranty is there.

Many thanks for the quick response. I would have loved to try it that way. In the case of the device, however, the battery is built into the housing in such a way that I should have opened it. So I followed advice # 2 and contacted the seller. Looked up - the device is actually only a good 1 year old and I didn't want to jeopardize the guarantee. But thank you very much!

Thanks for the advice. Checked when it was bought. Incredibly, it's only a good 1 year old. Usually time goes by so fast. Wouldn't have thought it possible. In my life (actually in the lives of those I have to care for) unpleasant and / or catastrophic events have happened all the time in recent years. If it were ONLY Corona… Probably that's why everything takes so long. So that you get a lot out of it.

I just wrote to the seller about the guarantee. Hopefully it can be fixed. Are there important data on it…

MANY Thanks. Wouldn't have thought of checking the date of purchase on my own. Beautiful evening.
