I'm a little baffled. A while ago, my microphone refused to use from one day to the next, regardless of whether I use the laptop's internal microphone or connect one. You can no longer hear me in any program and there's no rash in the test. I use Windows 10. It is also shown to me as recognized under its name. I tried Discord, Zoom, WebEx, Rocket Chat, Whatsapp for the desktop (voice messages) and the pre-installed voice recorder. ONLY Skype works smoothly for some reason. I have already checked the permissions. The voice recorder and Skype are listed there and authorized. WebEx and Discord appear in the list below, which means "Allow desktop apps to access your microphone", which is also turned on.
The mic obviously works. And in the past it worked everywhere else. Does anyone know what I could try?
Under the sound settings (right-click on the loudspeaker symbol in the task bar → Sound settings → top right sound settings). Is your microphone selected as the standard device or means of communication under recording?
Did you try to select the recording device manually in the individual programs under the settings?
Thanks for the answer! Yes, the microphone is selected as the standard there. In the test below, a rash is actually shown - but with Discord e.g. Not. I also selected it in the programs.
This is really funny, because then the normal Windows recorder should work. Which microphone or headset is it and how "high" is the bar in the sound settings?
Yes, that's why I'm so helpless now. The internal microphone is called Realtek High Definition Audio. The bar deflects quite normally, at room volume almost half.
Fail. Was intended as a comment.
Mhh… If it were possible I would take a look at it with Teamviewer, if that doesn't make you uncomfortable or it is okay for a stranger to look over it xD. Otherwise you may be able to upload pictures of your settings (sound settings, recording settings from Skype and any other program).
Um, let's start with screenshots? If you tell me briefly where I can find what you want to see? And where can I show it to you, should I simply upload the pictures where with a link?
Hm?
I think you can add screenshots to your question. Screenshots of the sound settings, recording settings from Skype and any other communication program.
Okay, now I'm lucky enough to take a screenshot. Sound settings, Skype (which has pretty much no settings at all) and Discord. The links take you to the pictures xD

Jo thought I had written it as a comment but probably accidentally clicked on the answer.
Image 3 is not available.
Strange, should actually. Can this be done here? https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aq9qmcI3Qk2eiDaBN1RmRv9wl5Rn
Jo that works. I couldn't find anything unusual about your settings now. Did you install Realtek Audio Manager? If so, you can adjust the playback volume under microphone. Then you should hear yourself speaking into the microphone.
The manager is not to be found with me. I know where it should be, but it doesn't appear. Maybe that's part of the problem?
I think less but you can install the audio drivers for your mainboard or laptop again.
The drivers for the microphone are up to date, if that's what you mean.
No, your computer is a standing computer or a laptop. Please give the name once on a laptop, it is written on a sticker somewhere and the mainboard name on the stand computer, you can read it out, for example, using a program called HWinfo.
Oh okay I have a laptop, Acer Aspire E 15. So should I reinstall the audio driver? I'm grateful for your help, I will check again tomorrow, good night.
