I thought about buying a laptop for my studies. Found one that is available in 2 variants. Intel Core i5-8265U and AMD Ryzen 5 3500U. Each 250GB SSD the Intel version is 50 euro more expensive. Now I wanted to ask which processor is better.
I've always had good experiences with the Ryzen 5! The differences are actually not that big.
I have the Intel at home and the Ryzen 3700U.
Are both totally sufficient for all work.
The AMD feels a little better. But it's also a number above yours.
With the price advantage without disadvantages, I would take the AMD.
The chips are almost equally strong. The Ryzen is weaker in the single-digit percentage range as long as fewer than 6 threads are served.
The integrated graphics unit of the Ryzen should be clearly superior to that of the Intel. So if the laptop doesn't have a dedicated GPU, the Ryzen is much stronger in games.
Personally, I think the Ryzen processors are better.
But I would advise you to look for a laptop with more storage space, since 250gb is really little.
You're better positioned with the AMD.
In terms of CPU performance, they don't take anything, in terms of graphics performance the AMD is considerably better.
