AMD Ryzen 5 3500U or Intel i5 8265U better in the following notebook package?

It would be super nice if someone who knows really well could tell me which of the two offers is more worthwhile. The notebook is mainly intended for working at the university, not for playing. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with notebooks and do not know the differences between the two offers.

a) https://www.saturn.de/...%7Cp%7C%7C = processor Ryzen 5 3500U with graphics card Vega 8

b) https://www.saturn.de/...%7Cp%7C%7C = processor intel i5 8265U with graphics card UHD graphics 620

If the Intel processor is not really better, I would like to save myself namely the 80 euro, which costs the package more than the other…

Thank you very much for your answers, I would really appreciate it if someone takes the time to help me.

I would take that with Ryzen, both are enough for work, but the notebook with the Ryzen also creates some games

Le

Okay thank you! So is the Ryzen processor just as good as the Intel? I'm just wondering why intel is so much more expensive then

al

Intel is generally more expensive

br

The RYZEN is the faster system.

This is due to 3 facts.

1. The Vega graphics are worlds faster than the Intel graphics.

2. The Intel system has only 4GB of single RAM, the RYZEN has 8GB of DualRAM.

3. In the tube performance, the CPUs take nothing.

Hey you here too I can only agree with you the graphics unit of Ryzen is much more powerful the Intel is a bit stronger but does not put mountains in the single core performance, the Intel is better in the AMD multicore here a comparison

Yes, the ryzen is even faster thanks to the DualRam

al

Jup, on the notebook even runs GTA 5 (although only with low settings and 40 FPS on 720P but still can see that for the price)

Here the tube performance of the CPUs… Almost all the way down to the graphs

Indeed. The weakness is unfortunately the single core performance

Le

Thanks for your comment and for the link. Actually, I had already looked at the comparison, but I did not quite get it smart, because I do not know when to use single-core and when multi-core. Sorry, I'm really a total layman. Can you maybe explain that for a moment? But were so synonymous ne great help!

Le

Thanks a lot! I think then I'll save my money rather and buy the cheaper package with the AMD processor, especially since to think that yes synonymous, the graphics card is better.

What do you want to do with it exactly something office and web browser because multicore is very advantageous in gaming, the better single-core performance of advantage if you use old programs or play unoptimized games you should pay attention to the single-core performance in office use you will do not remember difference

However, gaming makes no sense that the graphics unit is much too slow

(Not every application uses all of your CPU's core Intel is just faster on a core than AMD)

br

Both have NO graphics card. The graphics is housed in the CPU and there's the RYZEN and a lot faster and even very suitable for lowGaming. The Intel graphics is an office graphics and is good for nothing except a normal image output.

Here too a comparison, pay attention to the FPS number almost at the bottom of the many numbers

br

And yes, with the Ryzensystem until you advise.

Le

Ah, okay, thank you! So that's it. For me then it probably depends more on multicore (web browser and office). I decided now for AMD Ryzen 5 and against intel i5

Is the better choice alone because of the DualRAM up to 64 GB so you could upgrade the leptop up to 64GB why ever you would want that I wish you a lot of fun with it
