PC only downloads 1 mbit but it has 8 mbit?
Hello everybody,
I got my new gaming PC today. Everything started connected and a few programs downloaded. But if I want to download a game, the game downloads at 1 Mbit, if at all. I connected the LAN cable. On my laptop, it downloads at 8 mbit on Steam. I really have no idea what that could be.

I hope someone can help me. I did all the updates but it's still not better
On your screenshot you can see 8Mbit. Could it be that other services are also occupying the line in the background, for example to download Windows updates?

Units confused… 1MB / s are 8Mbit / sec… On the 2nd picture is kB / s = kilobytes. Are in kbit (kilobit) * 8…
This is completely normal, you have to remember, 8 Mbit is about a megabyte a second… What your window shows you is about 800 kilobytes, so 0.8 megabyte a second, your internet provides you with 7 mbit, a little less than one megabytes the customer. That's fine.
BUT whether Opera and CHrome have to be I don't know
You have to know that it is 8 megabits and not megabiyte, which means that it is divided by 8 or so. I have a 150 k line but an average of 15 mb are downloaded
You confuse the units. You download kilobytes / s, not kilobit / s. Upper / lower case is a crucial detail for units.
780 kilobytes / s correspond to an actual speed of 6.24 Mbit and are close to your performance as a snapshot.
Ok, thanks for the answer but maybe you have a solution why it is with my laptop for just 300 euro and it is really just a work laptop, it is downloaded within 40 minutes?
