Could anyone tell me how to best overclock the cpu without causing too much damage?
My laptop:
Manufacturer: Asus
Processor: Intel Core I5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.71 GHz
RAM: 12GB
System Type: 64-bit operating system
Would it be overclocking at all?
You can't overclock a U-processor. Intel allows overclocking only for processors ending in K.
If you overdo the PC, then the life is limited.
In a laptop, this is very problematic because overclocked components release more heat. I would not do it.
The CPU must or can you overclock in the BIOS, but you also have to raise the voltage, this may not be set too high (the CPU does not stop that any longer, just like your power supply). With the voltage it is worth logically then also to set the clock rate high.
You can also overclock CPUs without K extension.
Since when? I thought only with the K-Prozssoren the multiplier would not be locked.
Well, I know net since when xD
At least not that of HP ^^
HP has even locked the BIOS of HP Omen
