When should you re-set up your laptop (to play)?

Before I want to talk about the topic further, please don't bullish me that I'm using a laptop to play my games, that's better for me. But we come to the topic well.

I have a question that is very close to my heart. When should you set up your laptop / PC again? At some point I heard that you should set up your PC / laptop every two years. I don't live behind the moon and I don't know how a computer works. However, I would like to know a few answers / explanations, of which they are well versed in. By the way, I have Windows 10.

Hope I have very good and helpful answers.

Can you say what components are installed in the PC?

You should find it in the Task Manager under "Performance" or something like that.

All remaining data will be deleted and reg files and services etc.

If Windows itself runs without problems in terms of performance and functions, I personally see no reason to reinstall Windows.

If games don't run the way you want them to, it's most likely due to underperforming hardware. In such a case, you could initially try lower graphics settings. But heat problems can also cause performance to decrease. This is particularly noticeable when games ran better before. Various updates sometimes cause problems with games.

If nothing helps, a more powerful device is probably needed. And if you tell us what hardware is built into your device, you could also be told whether the hardware is sufficient for a particular game.

I hope that I understand your question title correctly and that you are partly concerned with games.

From that point of view, it made sense from time to time if you mostly had to restart Windows. From today's perspective, this is not worth it in my opinion.

Back then, the myth was still that Windows would fill up the disk slowly and yes… This myth also had a meaning somewhere. Since Windows Vista, Windows has been doing a very decent job (or has developed properly up to Windows 10), at least as far as automatic data cleansing / defragmentation is concerned, and only the user is actually still able to use the system with programs, files and other things what to fill up.

In this respect, it is really only worth repeating the following stories:

- if a virus / trojan is caught

- if something on the system no longer functions as desired (e.g. Crashes / blue screens) and can't be remedied by (driver) software updates.

Of course, you can still get a little bit of performance out of the system without having to set it up again. To list all possibilities in detail would go beyond the scope. In this respect, I leave it to the others who want to do it.

If you are still interested, I would be happy to go into detail here. Otherwise, Google helps you a lot, among other things. Of course, you can also come together for remote maintenance sessions / brief instructions via TeamViewer. Not an issue.

Hope to have given you helpful information.
