My touchpad is spinning lately… If I just hold my finger on it, then the mouse pointer jumps wildly from top to bottom or the zoom gets out of focus. What can you do about it?

Check also if updates are available - these are sometimes also miraculous.
Reinstall the driver / update, keep the touchpad clean.
Most touchpads are not very good and muck over time.
