External hard drive formatted with Clonezilla, can I undo it and save the data?

So I put on my laptop Win 7 new and wanted to save it with Clonezilla an image on my external hard drive. Now my external hard drive has been completely reformatted and all the stuff is gone.

Can I undo this somehow or helps because only Recuva, because I do not necessarily rely on Recuva and after the hard drive was formatted because I have nothing stored on it or something, it is anyway recognized by Windows but not displayed.

Maybe someone with expertise can help me please, I'm desperate and do not want to lose important stuff.

A company that does that professionally, e.g. https://www.ontrack.com/de/datenrettung/

Gu

Do you have to try Recuva or have many Euro restored for many?

St

Also for money you do not get there

Gu

Naturally.

When formatting a hard disk, it is irretrievable. It will be overwritten. If he had deleted the data so that would not be a big problem, but formatting is something else!

Gu

Is not right. When using the Quickformat, in principle only the file table is reset (data is still on it and will be overwritten by new data). With the normal format, the data is still on it, only nobody finds, because the are no longer referenced. Since you need then extra tools.

What you mean is "high-level format". This is only possible with extra tools. There, the hard disk is repeatedly written with I and 0 and thus all data deleted forever.

How much is much?

Try it:

https://www.paragon-software.com/de/free/rk-free/

This should be able to restore a "deleted" partition.

And next time take one of these (free) tools:

https://www.paragon-software.com/de/about/products-a-to-z/#free

The Backup & Recovery tool works great. And then you should also create a working boot disk (CD / DVD, or USB stick / …).

Otherwise you can (basically) use something like this:
