Laptop fan goes off and does not cool?

The fan on my laptop (Fujitsu Lifebook A Series, Windows 7) goes off after the PC start and cools no longer, even if the laptop is running hot. The fan starts up shortly after starting, turns quickly and then it fades out slowly until it stops completely. What can I do? What could be the problem? Apparently the fan is not broken.

Will probably have accumulated over the years a lot of "dust".

Either the temp. Sensor which is to move the fan to cool nice cuddly embedded in house dust or the fan has even so much dust around the shaft stored that he shuts off better not to go completely defective.

A combination of both is conceivable.

It only helps taking apart and cleaning.

There are also various instructions on the net… Here's one of them

Would be an option. I can't give you the right remote diagnosis.

I opened and cleaned everything. The problem is still there. Have BIOS settings reset, not synonymous. But what I found out is that when I did BIOS update, the fan jumped suddenly. When the BIOS update was done, the fan went off again and does not start, even if the laptop is running downstairs very hot.

Whatever the case may be
The critical temperature has not yet been reached so that the fan cools down according to the specification.

The bios update you made - usually runs outside the Windows environment.

Here the fan rotates, possibly also at full speed.

Only when Windows is back, the speed drops to a minimum. Because this is provided by any power management guidelines. So the ACPI control of Windows.

Put in the power administrations of Windows the whole thing around

Desktop PC.

The fan should then run normally again.

If he is on a notebook or similar, the fan will rotate at its lowest possible speed to save energy.

Possibly but is also under the Extended Power Management under the tab "processor power management" -> system cooling right the whole on passive. Here the setting "Active" can help.

Another alternative would be the software "SpeedFan" with which you can specifically control your fan.

Among other things, you get these from here ----> https://www.heise.de/...edfan-7897
