I would soon like to buy a device for school and (if it comes to that again, also homeschooling). I'm thinking between laptop and Ipad with pen, what are your arguments for each? What do you use? And why?
Please WITH JUSTIFICATION
The layouts etc. Are much clearer on the laptop. An iPad is small and clever, but that is not absolutely necessary for homeschooling.
I would recommend a laptop, I also have one myself, because you can write on these keyboards better than those where you can attach the iPad. Hope I could help you.
You could use a tablet if you write down smaller notes. Some also use programs for tablets where they write down and write their notes with the extra pen and even sort them by subject. It is small, light and practical.
However, I prefer a laptop because I do my transcripts and further there. You can also plug in USB sticks directly, not like with a tablet.
I have both. Say a laptop and an iPad with pencil.
I have to say that I really worked with the laptop in 90% of the cases.
The tasks for us were usually formulated in such a way that it was not possible to work out with an Apple Pencil.
Teachers often corrected the documents, which is why Word was the only option. (Please note that Word is chargeable on larger iPads)
I personally find it much easier and clearer to send documents via laptop. My opinion
A laptop can be used universally! Consider why. The iPad (unless you buy a pro) is very small. Of course, you can work in parallel, but the applications in the split screen are very small and are often still half covered by the open keyboard. Everything is in place on the laptop and nothing stands in the way of working in parallel.
A laptop is generally more practical for working in the Corona period. Of course, it was often the case that I worked with a laptop and an iPad in parallel, which is not absolutely necessary.
I think a laptop is more practical.
I don't really need anything for school until next year, but a laptop is actually recommended.
Sure, you don't have an ApplePencil on your laptop. But you are missing some other things on the iPad. Clearly there are dull versions of Photoshop, Lightroom, Word and co. But that's definitely not as extensive as on a laptop.
I just think that you are just more flexible on the laptop and have more options. Of course, some things are more complicated. But since you work a lot more with laptops, working with it will probably be easier for YOU too.
This is my tip 😉
All the best and stay healthy 🍀
