The socket (maybe it is something else) on my laptop has been broken since midday today. I unplugged the headphones for a short time (probably 15 min.) When I put them back in, the sound was still played on my laptop instead of on the headphones! I've already tried everything (it's not because of the headphones, I've tried others, they don't work either, I've used the correct socket). The laptop doesn't even recognize the headphones.
I really hope that you can help me. I really do not know anymore…
Try to restart the PC.
Maybe there's dust or dirt in the socket, go in there with a toothpick.
The first thing you should do is inspect the headphone jack carefully and look for possible visible defects. Blowing hard into the headphone jack also helps in some cases. Normally in Windows 10, when you plug in new headphones, a small gray dialog box appears. Please make sure that the headphones are also declared as audio output devices. Otherwise you could look in the Device Manager to see if the device is possibly (for whatever reason) deactivated. A restart could also help.
Ohh, I should have figured it out earlier, it works again!
I tried the restart and it worked! The headphones work again! : DD Thank you very much
No problem.
