Is that too much internet consumption?

We (5 people) consume 1.5tb a month with a 100k line. There are a total of 6 mobile phones, 2 laptops, 1 PC (LAN), 1 tablet and 2 consoles. We have to say that the internet does not work during the week from 14:30 to 22:30 and not at the weekend.

Residence: Austria, Burgenland.

Provider: Kabelplus

XD haha.

Ta

That's nothing.

Gu

The technicians say that's way too much.

That says nothing about how much data is being transferred. That depends on the particular use. In addition, the Internet is not consumed. It's still there and it has not gotten any lower - no matter how much data you have downloaded.

Vi

If you want to get the most out of a 16-Mbit line - up to 12 hours per day - then 1.5 terabytes at the end of the month is no problem.

Do not you keep scrolling the pages, so it looks nice for the next one?

Vi

Thanks for the tip. Does that really bother that much? Then I will do that more often in the future. I do not want to leave a bad impression.

Is correct. But there are tariffs, there's just throttled the line.

Vi

Yes, but these rates are known and you can choose according to your own needs. No technician has to decide how much of what I have to use. I pay it and what I pay, I take that too.

However, if the technician notes that the consumption is higher than what I could actually use, it indicates a problem that needs to be investigated. When the reader arrives and sees on the water meter that I use 1 billion gallons of water every month, even though I do not fill my pool daily, then either the utility meter is broken or somewhere a line is leaking. So I have to take action and let a plumber come.

So it would be interesting to know in what context the technician in this case spoke of "too much" consumption.
