What should at least have a laptop, so a graphics card
The integrated cpu graphics are sufficient for a laptop. For gaming, however, I would say at least one GPU with the performance of a 1060
Graphics card, is your GPU, if you only want to use your laptop as an office PC or something, the current graphics card is probably ok, but mostly graphics cards are upgraded if you want to do something that needs more power, e.g. Gaming.
In principle, Pcs also work without a graphics card ((i.e. The mainboard sometimes has its own graphics card)), so as long as you don't use anything that consumes a lot of power, it doesn't really matter which one.
Which graphics card is currently in your PC or better question, what do you use your laptop for?
Simply put, the graphics card outputs the image. The stronger the graphics card, the prettier and higher resolution you can play your games and output them with more frames per second.
In the case of laptops, graphics cards are usually firmly soldered, if available. That means an exchange is not possible later.
In order to be able to play current games in 1920x1080p resolution well, I would recommend a laptop with at least one RTX 2060. The processor is also important, so an i5 of the 10th generation or better would be recommended. Also at least 8GB RAM, although nowadays you actually have 16GB RAM.
A graphics card, also known as GPU for short, is largely responsible for the performance of the graphics in a PC.

A graphics card is not a GPU. A GPU is the processor that is built into a graphics card. A graphics card is a card that has its own processing unit, memory and power supply and that is connected via an interface (nowadays always PCIe).
PCs don't work without a graphics card, at least not if you equate graphics card with graphics processor and today, except on server boards, motherboards are no longer equipped with GPUs, the graphics unit is usually integrated on the die with the CPU (IGP).
Computers can of course also be used without a graphics unit, this is the case with many servers, but PCs always require a graphics unit, otherwise they are not referred to as such.
