How can I fix the problem on my laptop?

Every time I start my laptop for the first time, the screen flickers black and white (flurry of snow).

If I switch it off (using the start button) and start it again, everything works without any problems. It is like that every time.

Where could it be and what can I do about it?

Could indicate a heat problem.

Only when the capacitors or the like have come up to temperature does everything work.

Is that also the case with an external monitor / TV?

I connected an external monitor via HDMI, but it only starts when I have logged in, before that it is black

You should be able to change that using the keyboard controls on your notebook.

In the case of a laptop (notebook), the cables that connect the display to the electronics under the device's keyboard may have been damaged. You can test this by carefully (gently but gently with a little pressure) pressing the frame around the notebook all around - if it gets better / worse, it is probably because of this. The only thing that helps is replacing the display (it can be a lot of effort and with some devices it is no longer possible).

It can't actually be a software error, because you only start when you start and it always works the second time… But if you've made a BIOS update earlier, this could be to blame. In that case try to equip the BIOS again with the very latest version (but ONLY if you have done it before).

"Snow flurry" actually mostly indicates a hardware defect. So get used to the idea of having to buy a new device in the foreseeable future. If it wasn't violent, chances are that your display will suffer even more damage in the future.

But if it somehow works: just use an externally connected monitor with HDMI or display port connection instead (i.e. Not in parallel, but only exclusively). That would have the advantage that you can continue to use the device and it is also much healthier for your eyes! I speak from painful experience. I get a headache extremely quickly from laptop displays under the usual 1920x1080.
