Describe the beep! If this is more than a single beep, this is an error message that reveals the reasons.
I would restart the laptop, maybe it runs out of battery? Try charging it.
Hm depends on the beep, I strongly suspect that your RAMs are defective or just one of them. But as I said, it depends on how often and how it beeps.
