Why are my e-mail folders empty?

I have a T-online mail account. The account is accessed from my PC or laptop. Now I notice that when I call up the account from the PC, almost all of my folders are empty, e.g. Also the "Sent" folder.

If, however, I go from the laptop to the mail account, the folder contents are displayed.

How can it be that my folders are not showing any content on my PC? Is that a matter of attitude? Or is it due to Windows 10, or t-online or is my PC broken?

Who can help me? I'm happy about every tip and say thank you in advance.

Gr

You (or your e-mail client program) will probably delete the contents of the folders on the T-Online server when you access them.

I use there e.g. The program "The Bat" is used as the email client, here you can set whether emails should be left on the server or whether they should be deleted there if they were successfully "downloaded".

This means that they are then only available on the PC with which they were originally "accessed" for the first time. If I go on it with another PC, the folders are empty - because they have already been accessed.

Thank you for the feedback.

Even if I have no idea, your answer somehow sounds very conclusive to me.

Because I haven't changed anything, I don't even know how and where. (

So it should be something "automatic".

And already I have the next question, what do I have to do now so that the emails stay on the PC and also on the laptop until I delete them myself?

Can I make changes in the email client program you have described, and where can I find them?

Or can / should I get this "The Bat" client program?

Gr

Phew, these are questions that you unfortunately have to deal with yourself because I don't know the software program you are using and the environment.
It's like with the food, I like it… But that doesn't have to fit or appeal to you for a long time.
I just did well with "The Bat", because at that time I was able to get a student version very, very cheaply, and that's what made me "big".
There's a menu item "Leave received messages on the server".

Thanks a million for your help!

I got it - it's more complicated than I thought.

My hope was that somewhere, at a certain, but unknown point, my problem would have been solved by removing or ticking a box.

Now I'll deal with the analysis of your racing shot. Maybe I'll get some idea. )

In the addendum I would now like to add that I was able to solve the problem by switching browsers.

It's obviously up to Firefox.

Perhaps someone with the same problem is looking for a solution.
