Will the graphics card be reinstalled when I reset my Windows 10 notebook? Do I need the Windows code afterwards? Can DLL errors go away?

I would like to know whether I can reset the graphics card drivers by resetting a notebook.

My problem is that I've been getting a RUN DLL error message when I boot up my notebook for a few days. There's always missing shadowsplayonstart.

I hope to remove the error message by resetting. Incidentally, the error message has no negative effects, but it always appears at the beginning.

In theory, I could of course delete and re-install the graphics card driver, but I don't really know what I'm doing and am more afraid of breaking something. And since I want to sell it anyway, it is a good idea to reset it.

My very last question, do I need to reset the Windows code after reset?

De

Not really.

Which question does this refer to?

If Windows 10 was on it from purchase, the code is saved permanently. You can also read out the code and copy / print it.

The "Reset" deletes all data (if selected) and erases existing system errors.
But please note when selling laptops, with certain programs your pictures can be restored

Uninstalling the driver is not a problem, it can be done easily in Control Panel → Programs and Features. You can usually perform a repair installation in addition to the uninstallation. Another option would be to download the latest driver and start the installation. This will replace the old driver.

By the code you probably mean the Windows license. This remains; you just reset everything to the state of the Windows after installation. It would be different with a hardware change. In this case you don't have it.

Thank you for the answer I thought nothing would come. Only one question is reinstalled when you reset the graphics card? Or the drivers.

te

Maybe a question after all, what can I do about the programs that could read my old data?

te

First of all, thanks for the answer.

I've already tried the driver, but I didn't remove my old one before. I wanted to do it using the instructions from chip.de but it is complicated and I can't control the drivers in safe mode. I should stay in the mode according to chip.de, but I preferred to leave it there.

What happens if I completely delete my graphics card driver? Can I still use the notebook there to access the Internet?

Yes, that's exactly what I mean.

Better than resetting is to reinstall Windows 10 cleanly. Since Windows 10 is included with your notebook, the Windows 10 product key is permanently integrated in the BIOS and is never lost. And this is how you do it:

Download the Media Creation Tool from the Microsoft website. You can use it to create a Windows 10 USB boot stick. This also packs all current Windows updates onto it.
After you have created the stick, you only have to boot it. This is how it works: Insert the stick, switch on the notebook and immediately press F2. Now you are in the BIOS. Put the stick in the first place in the boot order. Save and exit.
The notebook restarts and boots the stick. Simply follow the instructions of the installer. It offers the possibility to delete everything. You should do that. The notebook is restarted several times during the installation. If the message "Enter Product Key" just skip this. Then Windows 10 automatically fetches the product key from the BIOS.
After completing the installation and starting Windows 10 for the first time, simply log in again with your Microsoft account. Windows 10 will then be reactivated automatically.
Finally, go to the manufacturer's website of your notebook. Download and install the drivers there. This also installs the graphics card driver.

Store the stick well for emergencies.

Oh ho I seem to have a high attendance in my post.

Thank you for the answer then I'll get to work master!

The notebook will then run with the basic graphics driver from Microsoft. Elaborate graphics, e.g. Games, it can't really run smoothly. It is suitable for installing the correct driver for your graphics card. It is possible that it will first display a lower resolution than would be possible. But you can change this.

On your.

If images and data are backed up, then delete the data with the free program Revouninstaller.
You can also use it to clean up the hard disk.
The program is free and pretty good.
