To all those with an affinity for technology: A survey on the durability of computer components. Optionally, you can also write as an answer how often or at what approximate time intervals the selected component breaks.
At least that's the only part I've ever broken. Everything else is swapped more often anyway as a result of performance limitations.
Well, nothing breaks me, only cpu and graphics card would often be exchanged if they are too weak if they need my board like ramm also but thanks to am4 mus man not currently so changed means only cpu and graphics card fell easily but he seldom falls the power supply
So far, in all the years I've only broken 1 part, that was a power supply. A hard drive was gone, but it still worked long enough to pack the data on another computer.
A floppy disk drive was broken too, but that was because my little sister had fed it with Barbie's shoes.
Otherwise, I retired every fully functional computer, even if, depending on who got it, the hard drive had to cuddle with a magnet.
Two CD drives gave up the ghost with me… Otherwise, for the last 25 years, I've been - toi! Toi! Toi! - never broken anything on the PC!
Oh stop! But! Once, my power pack blew up my ears! But it was my fault! I used more power (second high-end graphics card) than the power supply could… * puff [but deleted itself! Advantage of branded power supplies!].
I have been using PCs since 2007 and assemble mine myself, but so far none of my components has broken.
The records from 10 years ago are still running.
