I have a work laptop (ThinkPad T490) and have connected a screen via Hdmi. Now I would like to connect my second via DVI or VGA.
Now I have strange connections and no plan whether they are helpful. In the instruction manual it says USB C Thunderbolt… Well, unfortunately I can't find anything helpful with Google, only that Apple and USB C things are always displayed to me.
Do you have an idea how I can use it to get DVI or VGA to it?
I think the left is usb-c and the right should be mini dvi or something, unfortunately I can't see it that well
So the left one is definitely USB C, the right one could be a display port
As far as I know, this somewhat strange double connection is for the docking stations that Lenovo sells. The left side also functions as a USB C port, which is the new and improved USB connection, so to speak, as can also be found on many smartphones. The Thunderbolt, so to speak, only stands for the fact that much higher data rates are supported than with "normal USB C". And Thunderbolt was developed jointly by Apple and Intel and mainly installed at Apple, hence the many search results with Apple.
(In my opinion, the one on the right is not a standard connection but only for the docking stations mentioned, but I can be mistaken, Mini DVI is definitely not.)
If you now want to connect a monitor via VGA or DVI, I recommend an adapter (e.g. https://www.amazon.de/...07QXYDVG4/ or a special cable (e.g. https://www.amazon.de/...082TS6DXF/
I hope I was able to help you, if you have any questions for me, please comment again.
