My problem is my old laptop, which has a lot of quirks, but still starts up, but the screen and some fuses have blown. The last time I used the laptop was about 8 years ago. A repair made no sense "according to the employee" where I wanted to fix it.
Well I'm sure the hard drive is still okay and the laptop still contains a lot of private and very IMPORTANT pictures of me. Is there any way to save the pictures? Or are they gone forever: /?

No, the hard drives are also plugged into laptops. With a SATA connector.
