Laptop for students?

Can anyone recommend a relatively cheap laptop for students? The main thing is to write reports.

What is "relatively cheap" for you? How big / heavy can it be? How much memory do you need? Do you need long battery life? Do you need special equipment such as touchscreen, LTE etc?

I say up to 500 euro maximum. Unfortunately I really don't know my way around…

it depends on whether you want an illuminated keyboard and how much storage space you need, and if you are not familiar with it, you may have to ask someone who installs windows or linux for you. This is often no longer the case with cheap notebooks
