Is it possible to continue using a cloned hard drive on another notebook?
I cloned my notebook hard drive for security. But now someone wrote to me on Youtube that a cloned hard drive can only be used in conjunction with the original device. Is this statement true?
Yes, it is. From Windows 8 or Windows 10, this usually works "out of the box", drivers are installed later. However, if you use a different manufacturer, one or the other driver has to be installed so that all hardware functions work. In very rare cases you have to install certain drivers beforehand or manually reinfrickeln so that the OS starts per se. That was the case earlier, is extremely rare today.
If you use Linux, the situation is similar, only that you often have to install more manually with regard to drivers when changing hardware.
Many many thanks. At the moment the notebook is still working perfectly. But I don't know how long, since the notebook is already 5 years old. Acer Aspire E15.
