Laptop lag spikes every 3 minutes?

Since last night I have lag spikes on my laptop which are still there today. Repeatedly raising and lowering does nothing. The problem is also very new and I have never experienced it like this. The laptop was otherwise always flawless and I played my favorite games with 150+ FPS. But since last night, since I installed the Valorant game, my FPS drops down to 1 - 3 FPS every 3 minutes and that for 20 - 30 seconds. In time I feel like I can't do anything anymore. I then uninstalled the game and tried again but the lag spikes are still there…

I hope you can help me somehow.

Laptop: ThinkPad P51
CPU: Intel Core i7-7820HQ / 2.9GHz
Onboard graphics: Inte (R) HD Graphics 630
GPU: Nvidia Quadro M2200
RAM: 32GB

That can have several reasons. My first suspicion would be that the notebook is just too hot and then clocks down. How old is it and how high are the temperatures when playing?

My second suspicion would be the graphics card. Since this is a Quadro, it is not optimized for gaming and driver problems can occur in games. Are current graphics drivers installed? Possibly. You should also check the hardware requirements of Valorant.

Everything checked The laptop is from last year and so far every game ran perfectly.
