I wanted to install Minecraft Forge. My PC doesn't seem to have a suitable program to open the raw file. That's why I can't install it. Which program do I have to get? I don't want to unzip the files, just open them. I can't find anything under "Windows Installer" and other Google searches.
I was able to open the file on my laptop without any problems, apparently a corresponding program was preinstalled there.
Thought you need Java for Forge.
Install Java times.
What file extension does the file have?
As Joelhzz rightly says, you need Java to open and install .jar files. But since I have only recently been desperate with the Java Runtime Environment, which is necessary for this, I can only tell you the name of the program:
As already mentioned, the "Java Runtime Environment" would be
Jar
Unfortunately does not work. The file now has the Java logo, but nothing happens when I click on it.
Have you tried opening with and then searching for the runtime environment?
Yes, the loading symbol appears for half a second, disappears and unfortunately nothing happens
Reload the file and tried to reinstall Java?
I just tried. It just won't work ^^
Well, then you have the same problem as me… It just wouldn't work for me either, no matter what I did…
Hmm Try moving the file to your Minecraft Versions folder. Then you should be able to select them in the launcher
You have to download forge
Oh no… Forge you need Forge, nobody would have guessed it now xD
