On my laptop I suddenly find a "Cisco LVG" under Networks next to my PC. There's a "Storage" folder there, but it is empty. What could that be?

What kind of devices do you have in the network? It is not necessarily the computers that are interesting, but rather the router, other devices provided by the provider, televisions, etc.

Do you mean devices that are connected to the internet? Router, television, console, printer, cell phone… But none of that has anything to do with Cisco. That's why I'm surprised. Also could not establish a remote connection with the Cisco

No. I mean devices in the home network. Regardless of whether they are connected to the internet or not.

Just because Cisco isn't on it, you can't rely on it.

Then only my printer would actually come into question because it was the only one ever connected to my laptop. Otherwise I never (knowingly) added a device to the home network

It's not about whether there was anything connected. Devices can sometimes also be seen in the network if no conscious communication has yet taken place between the two.
