Cold War is not running smoothly, what can you do about it

I have a laptop with an i7 Core 16Gb RAM and the MX130 graphics card, Cold War is on the lowest settings and it still doesn't run smoothly, not with NExperince… Need advice!

Ge

You should definitely install a different graphics card, it is not intended for gaming.

Edit: Oh, laptop, then there's nothing you can do except get a streaming service.

pa

This is due to your weak graphics unit.

All right thanks, so it's just the graphics card?

Ge

Presumably, since you haven't given specific details about the processor, it's hard to tell if it's ONLY the graphics card.

I once uploaded a picture, maybe you can see more there!

The MX130 is significantly weaker than a modern IGP like the Iris Xe (11th gen core) or RX Vega8 (5xxx Ryzen), not to mention a powerful, dedicated graphics unit.

Your computer is not intended for gaming, sorry. The MX can be used to play a few old games or graphically less demanding ones such as Civilization V and the like. Gambling. Valorant, CSGO, LoL, DotA, Rocket League or WoW are the highest of feelings here.

Okay, my experiences tell me that you can't add anything new to a laptop, is that correct?

Bo

That is correct. So, there are a few barebones that are equipped with so-called MXM cards. These are actually PCIe cards that can be upgraded, but (1) MX cards are always BGA (i.e. Soldered), so you won't have such a connection and (2) even that is very complicated, because the replacement card is both thermally and from the power supply must match the original card, there are (3) different types of MXM connectors (not like PCIe) and (4) MXM cards only go to OEMs and can't be bought in retail stores. Most of the time you only get them used and they cost two to three times as much as the desktop counterparts.

tldr: It won't work with your laptop and with the few laptops that can do it, things are very complicated and expensive.
