Hi, a long time ago I upgraded my computer from Windows 8.1 to 10.
But now I want to have Windows 8.1 on my computer again.
How can I reset the pc so that the old Windows version is on it again?
This was also pre-installed on the laptop.
When I do a factory reset, Windows 10 is still on it… What's that supposed to mean?
Not at all, unless you still have a full backup of the old OS. If it is a "prefabricated" PC, you could have a look at the CD's, there's often one with which you can install backward. But everything is lost one way or another.
The why is closed to me too - Win8 is dead, and will soon be out of support for good, there's nothing more, no bug fixes, nothing.
Where should Windows 8 come from if Windows 10 is installed?
In addition, support for Windows 8.1 will end in two years.
I would stick with W10.
I think the old operating system will be deleted when installing Win10.
Is there still a backup from the old OS?
When you upgraded to Win10, a complete copy of Win8.1 was placed on the disk and you had 30 days to downgrade again, after these 30 days no more
In other words: If you do not have a complete backup / ISO of your previous system, then you have to completely reinstall 8.1 including everything else that is / was on it
