I'm looking for a laptop, but there are also some with a touchscreen and it is generally said that the eyes are more damaged by smartphones and tablets than by TV or something. If you get a laptop with a touchscreen now, it's just as damaging as a smartphone or just like a normal laptop.
I'm short-sighted at over -3 and don't want to promote it any further if I work with the notebook for 8 hours.

But books also make you short-sighted. It is simply because something is close in front of the eyes for a long time.
This makes no difference
Since I've been sitting in front of a touch display almost every day at work for a good 20 years… I should be able to see well by now (or be more than blind). The answer is probably no. ^^
