I have really nothing to do with technology, of course I have a cell phone, I know how to googlet and so on (the basics that anyone can), but nothing else. I have only had my laptop for about 3.5 years and since last year or around the turn my laptop is already extremely slow. When starting the laptop I have to z.b. Sometimes restart because the area does not appear where to enter my password. Every opening of a program or tab stretches for a few to ~ 10 seconds and when I open Word it takes at least ~ 20 seconds.
Is my laptop still to help and how? And what programs should I have installed to keep my laptop in tact?
Possibly procure work memory, delete unnecessary data, maybe reset it, if all this does not help, I would advise you to get a new one. 3.5 years for a laptop is not very little, and especially if nothing has ever been exchanged.
Install CCleaner and clean up the laptop.
First, perform disk cleanup on Windows 10. That should be done regularly.
Then you should download the AdwCleaner: https://de.malwarebytes.com/...dwcleaner/ This can clean Windows of adware and malware. Adware and malware is the most common cause when the system is slowed down.
In most cases that helps. If not, you should reinstall Windows 10 cleanly. It works like this:
Download the Media Creation Tool from the Microsoft website. So you can create a Windows 10 USB bootstick.
After creating the stick, just boot this stick and follow the instructions of the installer. It offers the possibility to completely delete the hard disk / SSD. You do not have to enter the product key of Windows 10, it is permanently integrated in the UEFI / BIOS and is automatically taken over. During the installation the laptop will be restarted several times.
After completing the installation and the first start of Windows 10, simply log in again with your Microsoft account. Windows 10 will be activated again automatically.
Finally, you go to the manufacturer side of the laptop. There download and install the drivers. The installation of the drivers is done by double-clicking.
Then you have to reinstall your programs again.
