For a long time, my laptop (EasyNote TE69KB Series) has been running like hell…
current software version: Windows 8.1
RAM installed: 2.00 GB (1.44 GB free)
system type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
does an update to Windows 10 help to make it run faster again?
2 GB of working memory with a hard drive that is probably similarly slow are no longer up to date.
4 GB is an absolute minimum these days.
And, no an update to win10 will not make big leaps
It's no wonder. Nowadays 8 GB of RAM is the bare minimum. You can't make a racing horse out of an old arable horse, and the integrated Radeon graphics also shred some of the RAM.
There are several ways.
First the usual: deactivate autostart, uninstall programs. Possibly. Let CCleaner run.
If that doesn't work, you should install an SSD that speeds up the normal operation of the device very noticeably, plus a little more RAM (4 GB is the minimum!) Then Windows 10 also makes sense.
The CPU of this PC (an AMD E-Series embedded processor) is very old and was slow when it was released. It will last, but not for very long.
Check PC requirements for Windows 10. Devices with less than 2 GB RAM are no longer supported.
Have another laptop here with 8 GB which is definitely faster xD
if you compare the two laptops you might think the 2 GB is from 1980 and the 8 GB from today xD
If the computer suddenly runs "slow as hell" you could have problems with malware or worn out hardware.
Especially since your specs are not exactly the screamer for a 64 bit system.
Ne has always been so slow xD
