Mouse spins when closing the laptop on the monitor. Solution?

I recently bought an HDMI cable for my monitor to avoid the laptop screen. But every time I close the screen of my laptop (to only use the monitor) my cursor (a.k.a mouse) starts to spin. It jerks, drags on the desktop, opens the menu, etc.

Unfortunately I can't find a solution. Driver updates are also installed but have no effect.

Laptop: Medion Akoya e3216

4GB Ram, Intel Pentium, only 3 years old (2019).

Maybe you need a laptop dock.

I don't think that would change much.
