Wi-Fi stick not enough internet?

I have a tiny problem we have a new internet connection with 50mb / s download and 10mb / s upload on my father's laptop everything works fine (he has a LAN cable) but I have a Wi-Fi stick because the router too far from my room I have the fritz wlan stick ac860 and still only 17-20 mb / s download and only 0.88 mb / s upload and we have already put some things in the Fritzbox settings of the 7490 and it did not help

Fr

Turn your cell phone on and wlan tethering. Look what's going on, if more is possible, the stick is not good

Lu

That is normal. You never get the maximum number of MB / S with a Wi-Fi stick. Maybe with a LAN cable though. Even with a 50k line with a LAN cable only 6 mb when downloading

Al

I would yes I unfortunately have no adapter from normal USB to the USB port of my mobile phone

Fr

Can't use the charging cable?

Al

Ok then it means laying lan cables on the wall

Lu

I did that too

Al

Unfortunately no i have an s4 mini (i know it's shame to use such an old cellphone)

Fr

Oh that's okay. This would even work if you had a usb and micro usb cable. I bought an extra s5 for my pc as a Wi-Fi receiver.

Mi

Even the worst sticks connect to your router at 100Mbit / s via Wi-Fi. So still more than enough for your internet connection. Try to minimize the distance between the PC and the router. First of all as a test. If that works better, then buy repeaters or run them via powerline.

Al

The stick already has full bars and still has such transfer rates

Ma

100% signal actually means that something is disturbing or has been configured poorly.

Any active Bluetooth devices (wireless keyboard, mouse, headsets…) or USB 3.0 devices, even poorly shielded HDMI cables, can affect radio traffic.

Try switching off such devices.

Or use a USB extension (max. 2m) to better position the Fritz Stick.

The manufacturer AVM also explains what else you should check here:

Mi

Does it connect via 2.4 or 5 GHz? 2.4 is slower, but has a longer range. Hence possibly the "good reception" but the slow speed

Al

I have and it's always the same

Al

5 GHz

Al

And how can I adjust the speed in relation to the Fritzbox settings

Mi

You can't set the speed directly. You can only deactivate one of the networks.

5GHz network is the faster of the two. I'm slowly running out of ideas.

Al

No matter what we ordered a lan cable
