Arguments for a good PC instead of a good laptop?

I want to buy a PC for my confirmation and thus not only play games but also video editing, programming, photo editing and other things for my future professional life (I want to become a computer scientist). However, my parents will definitely say that I should rather buy a laptop because I could take this to school (already have a pretty bad) or somewhere else. Would you have any good arguments?

Moin, had the same problem.

Main argument with me was - more power of the parts for less money.

For once you seem to have an old laptop that you can use for school supplies.

I would get a pc just because I would get the same performance there for less money. The fact that you can take a laptop is indeed an advantage but dragging a laptop that cost a great deal would be almost too good. If you buy a cheap one in a few years, you have the same problem as with your current one

True, the PC has for the price usually better performance thanks for the tip

Yes, I would always have at least a laptop, especially for school. You can't always rely on the school laptop. Especially if you want to do video editing, there's a PC more appropriate, I think. Programming does not need so much power depending on the language, because if necessary, it is also possible with the laptop. LG

Forgotten - PC can be retrofitted. To retrofit a laptop will make you difficult (;)).

Ok then I think I counter my parents that I already have a laptop that I can take with me to school and if I would buy a more expensive laptop with the same performance and would take this to school with that would be for me Risky.

Well, you can always get both.

You get a good used laptop, for example. On eBay often for little money.

Example: A 699 euro laptop you get with a little luck for about 300 euro + rest guarantee.

Regarding the Pc's, you can indeed build the part of used parts together.

What does your laptop have for components?
