Which editing program for free with the lowest CPU and performance?

Hi, I already know a lot about editing programs, I've already worked with Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and Lightworks and Wondershare, but a new laptop was needed because the other one was too old and always crashed. The same is now the case again. I have a new laptop (no money to pay for a computer and editing programs) and wanted to know which editing program is the smallest, so the least CPU used of all. I would like to cut my videos without it hanging every 5 minutes. And yes, I know that is better with a computer, but that's why I ask if there are also small editing programs, at least with 2 tracks. (Audio track and video track would be very helpful)

I've been cutting with Sony Vegas and Premiere Pro for years but I could really recommend Davinci Resolve for your case. As good as Premiere only, it doesn't crash as often and runs more smoothly in my opinion.

There's only one answer among the 2 factors in the title question: "Forget it." 😉
Incidentally, it is not "free".
If you want to encode videos there's no "low CPU load".
At best, you can relieve this with a GPU - but if you still have to buy a suitable graphics card, it is not exactly "free".
